AudioBookPick publishes buying guides and practical articles about audiobooks on Audible: guides, genre picks, book spotlights, comparisons, and gift ideas. This page sets out how that content is produced, what the recommendations rest on, and how the site earns money.

What Our Recommendations Rest On

Our recommendations come from desk research. We are not sent review copies, and we do not write about a title as though we had listened to it end to end ourselves. What we do compare:

  • Author, narrator, runtime, and publisher as listed on Audible
  • Listener ratings alongside how many ratings sit behind them, since a 4.8 from twelve listeners is not a 4.8 from four thousand
  • Listener reviews, read for recurring notes on narration and abridgement rather than the average score alone
  • Whether a title is part of a series, and where in the order it falls

Where an article describes how a narrator handles a book, that comes from listener reports and published samples. Those are sources you can go and check, not private experience you would have to take on trust.

How Titles Get Picked

Titles are matched to the subject of the article, and filtered before any of them reach it:

  • Fit comes first: subject, narrator, and length against what the article is actually about. Commission rate plays no part in the order.
  • Listener ratings and review counts are reproduced as Audible reports them, so you can see how much agreement sits behind a score instead of the score alone.
  • Each article carries a short shortlist rather than an exhaustive catalogue dump.

What We Will Not Do

  • Take payment from a publisher, author, or narrator for coverage, placement, or a better rating.
  • Publish invented author identities. Articles carry a team byline, because a team is what produces them.
  • Claim to have listened to a title when nobody here has.
  • Quote experts we have not spoken to, or cite figures we cannot point to a source for.

How the Site Earns

As an Amazon Associate, AudioBookPick earns from qualifying purchases. Buying through a link here may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

That commission does not vary by which product you choose, so there is nothing to gain by steering you toward one listing over another. Full detail sits in our disclaimer.

Accuracy and Corrections

Articles get revised as titles leave Audible, narrations are reissued, and better picks appear. If something here is wrong, whether a stale recommendation, a dead link, or a plain factual error, tell us. Fixes go into the article itself rather than a note at the bottom.

Everything on AudioBookPick is general information and personal opinion about books and narration. Taste varies, so treat a recommendation as a starting point rather than a verdict.
